Save St. Mary’s

St. Mary’s, a historic church in New Orleans, holds the final resting place of Blessed Francis Seelos, a Redemptorist priest who dedicated his life to serving his parish, especially those affected by the yellow fever epidemic. His unwavering compassion led to his death from the very illness he fought against. His selfless devotion paved the way for his sainthood.

Despite its beauty, St. Mary’s has suffered significant damage over the past 164 years due to New Orleans’ harsh climate and vulnerability to hurricanes. The interior plaster walls and ceiling have deteriorated, threatening the church’s preservation.

The Redemptorists of the parish are raising funds to restore St. Mary’s. The “Save St. Mary’s Campaign Committee” is restoring the church’s original beauty while fortifying its structure.

We kindly request your support in preserving this architectural gem and ensuring the legacy of Blessed Francis Seelos inspires future generations.
