Dear Parishioners,
The best gift givers are those who know us best! That favorite sweater, coffee mug or photo comes from someone who really “sees” who we are.
And this is true of our parish family as well. We must know one another, “see” one another so that we can share our glorious faith. Our faith is that gift that we give one another, sharing and serving one another in our Lord.
One of the first steps in seeing one another is to know who we are as a parish family. Knowing that family helps us better serve that family. Everything from how many napkins to buy for hospitality to what type of spiritual growth each one of us feels the need for. We find great joy and support within one another in times of happiness and in times of grief.
This is what the Census can do for us, it helps us “see” one another so that we can serve one another in the best way…giving the greatest gift, faith!
God has given us great talents each one of us. And even though you may be shaking your head right now saying I have nothing to offer, I am no one special. That is not true! You are a greatly loved and valued child of God and your talents to help the parish as a whole and to help one another are so important to identify. If you are hungry you look to a farmer and a baker to fill your needs. If your heart is sad you look to a musician to lift your eyes up to the Lord. We need to know who all of our musicians, gardeners, prayer enthusiasts, bakers and welcoming souls are within the parish.
We have to know who we are as a parish, so that we serve one another as our Lord asks!
